CoachMate Launches New Learning Platform as Cricket Australia Goes Live with Coach360

CoachMate Learn (LMS) has officially launched, with Cricket Australia becoming the first national sporting organisation to deliver its coach development framework on the new platform.
The launch of Cricket Australia's Coach360 marks more than the introduction of a new learning management system. It represents a shift in how sport approaches coach development, moving beyond course completion and compliance to recognise the many ways coaches actually learn.
For CoachMate, the key driver is the simple idea that community coaches deserve learning tools built for sport and their unique context, not repurposed tools from the corporate world.
The Challenge
When Cricket Australia began designing Coach360, it had a clear vision for what coach development should look like.
The framework recognised that coaching capability is built over time through a combination of formal learning, mentoring, practical experience, workshops, videos, articles and conversations-not simply by completing online courses. The problem was finding a platform capable of delivering that vision.
“A critical part of bringing this vision to life was finding the right digital solution. We were looking for more than a traditional learning platform. We needed something that could support ongoing development, recognise learning wherever it happens, and connect with the realities of community sport. That's where CoachMate came in.”
Jon Stimpson - Head of Capability, Community Experience and Strategy, Cricket Australia
CoachMate's answer was to build something entirely new.
"Cricket Australia came to us with a clear vision for coach development, but no existing platform could deliver it - so we built one. Cricket Australia’s Coach360 framework is the first to go live, but the platform we've created is now available to any sporting organisation that wants to develop coaches in a way that truly reflects their sport. We're incredibly excited about what this means for grassroots sport around the world."

Built Around How Coaches Actually Learn
Most coaches don't start their development journey by enrolling in a formal course.
They're parents, volunteers, teachers and community members fitting coaching around busy lives. They learn through workshops, watching videos before training, reading articles, attending webinars, talking to other coaches and gaining experience on the field.
CoachMate Learn has been designed around this reality.
Rather than treating every piece of learning as a standalone event, the platform connects those experiences into a single development profile that grows alongside each coach.
Whether learning happens through a workshop, article, mentoring programme or online course, it all contributes to building a richer picture of coaching capability.
That changes what's possible.
Instead of asking coaches to start from scratch every time they pursue an accreditation, CoachMate Learn recognises what they have already achieved.
A coach may discover they have already completed a significant portion of a coaching accreditation simply through the learning they've been doing over time.
The platform doesn't just track learning.
It understands development.

Simplicity for Coaches. Sophistication Behind the Scenes.
One of the guiding principles throughout development was making the experience effortless for the people who use it.
While the platform manages complex learning frameworks, capability mapping and accreditation rules in the background, coaches experience something remarkably simple.
They log in, access content immediately and receive personalised guidance based on where they are today.
No unnecessary barriers.
No complicated pathways to navigate before learning begins.
Just meaningful content when it's needed most.
"The harder we work on the backend, the simpler it gets for the person using it. A time-poor coach should never have to think about the architecture. They should just feel like the platform understands them."
Sabine Brown - Head of Product, CoachMate
Designed for National Sporting Organisations
CoachMate Learn has been built specifically for governing bodies responsible for growing coaching capability across their sport.
Every organisation configures the platform under its own brand, coaching framework and accreditation pathways, creating an experience that feels entirely their own while benefiting from the ongoing innovation of the wider CoachMate ecosystem.
Beyond delivering learning, the platform provides organisations with something they've rarely had before-a live picture of coach development across their entire community.
Rather than only seeing who currently holds an accreditation, sporting organisations gain insight into who is actively developing, which capability areas are growing and where future investment can have the greatest impact.
Coach360 Goes Live
Cricket Australia becomes the first organisation to launch on CoachMate Learn through Coach360, its new national coach development framework.
The partnership has brought together Cricket Australia's vision for coach development with a platform purpose-built for grassroots sport.
"We're incredibly proud of what we've built with Coach360. It reflects the kind of coaching framework Australian cricket needs today, one that meets coaches where they are, recognises the learning and development they're already undertaking, and supports capability growth across every level of the game.
Through our partnership with CoachMate, we've created a modern coach development experience that is accessible, relevant and designed to support coaches throughout their journey. CoachMate shared our vision for a platform built specifically for grassroots sport, and we're excited to be the first sport to bring that experience to life for our coaching community."
